Magda Zurba

Business Development Director

Having joined SSA in 2016, Magda is the Business Development Director of SSA, as well as an ICF ACC coach, strategic facilitator and leadership development trainer.

She comes from an organisational development, HR and recruitment background, and has a BA degree in Business Studies.

She is an accredited ICF ACC Executive Coach, having graduated from the Academy of Executive Coaching in UK. Magda’s coaching experience is wide, having coached political leaders across local government (through the LGA and WLGA), including councillors with disabilities and senior leaders across health and social care.

She is passionate about developing leadership skills and behaviours, whilst enhancing personal and professional performance by supporting her clients in achieving their desired outcomes and overcoming their challenges (some of which are related to building confidence and personal resilience, overcoming impostor syndrome, work/life balance, navigating difficult relationships, enhancing impact and influence, public speaking, time management and many other areas).
She has over 8 years’ experience in developing the leadership capacity of public sector professionals both at the political and operational level, having worked with over hundreds of public sector organisations.

Her experience with local government specifically includes coaching political leaders, the design and delivery of leadership development interventions (including programmes aimed at elected members), with some examples including the LGA Leadership Academy, LGA Leaders Programme, Leadership Programme for Councillors in Wales, and LGA Leading Edge Programmes.

Magda has also worked on the design and delivery of top team facilitation across several councils, supporting leaders build consensus on how they lead change and transformations in a collaborative manner, be it within their organisation, inter-organisationally or at system-level.

A subject area expert in public sector partnership working, collaborations and shared services, she is also a trainer on various Collaborative Transformation Programmes for local government, health and social care and blue-light services a visiting lecturer at the University of Derby on Inter-Professional Working and Collaborative Leadership.

As part of her work with the higher education and health and social care sectors, Magda has also co-authored a toolkit on Interprofessional Learning- A guide to Collaborative Leadership and Multi-disciplinary Team Working.
