The Public Health team in Cornwall have secured funding from Health Education England for 1 year to recruit for a fixed term post to coordinate, extend and embed the Making Every Contact Count (MECC) training programme into organisations to a very high standard.
The roll out of this approach is one of the priorities included within the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP), a programme of work known as ‘Shaping Our Future’. The role of the MECC coordinator is to support the Cornwall MECC Steering Group to ensure the implementation of Making Every Contact Count (MECC) across Cornwall, and expand the capacity, reach and impact of the programme. The MECC coordinator will plan and monitor all aspects of the MECC programme implementation.
The post holder will also work within the public health team on behaviour change interventions and assist with various elements of the behaviour change and prevention agenda within Shaping Our Future (STP), but in particular the development of the MECC programme in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
