An exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering the Government’s local economic growth and devolution agendas as well as playing an active role in shaping the flagship industrial strategy and Northern Powerhouse policies. You will be a member of the Cities and Local Growth Unit, a partnership between the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). The Unit’s North West team, covers the areas of the following Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs): Cheshire and Warrington, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, Lancashire and Cumbria.

As a Deputy Area Lead, you will support one or more local enterprise partnership areas and will work with local partners to make sure that a range of local growth policies and programmes (e.g. Northern Powerhouse, local industrial strategy, growth deals, devolution deals and enterprise zones) are being developed and implemented effectively. You will take responsibility for performance monitoring and reporting, gathering and sharing intelligence so that accurate and timely briefing can be provided for Ministers and senior officials.
