The partnership behind the forthcoming garden waste collection charge in Lichfield is hoping that almost half of residents will be paying to have their green rubbish taken away by the end of next year.
Lichfield District Council and Tamworth Borough Council’s shared waste service is introducing the charge – £36 per bin, per annum – from January 1.
They say the move has been necessary because of Government cuts to council budgets.
